Diagen AS – a Company with Know-how and Experience
The Company was established in 2004 by persons having considerable experience within the fields of clinical diagnostics and Life Science.
A market survey previously carried out by the owners concluded that a new company with fresh ideas could contribute to increased competition and improved access to equipment in a growing and developing market. Such a company has a potential for supplying top-notch technology to demanding customers and to affordable prices.
Within microbiology we observe stricter requirements to quality and approved and documented standard tests on the one hand, and that on the other hand that new, advanced technologies are emerging rapidly. Diagen wants to bridge the gap between new demands from our Scandinavian customers and advanced technology being available from quality suppliers worldwide thereby contributing to efficient operations and cost savings.
We can offer our customers recognised ELISA tests from among others AniLabsystems. The application of real time PCR is increasing steadily among our customers. In cooperation with Cepheid, an active and competitive company, Diagen contributes with instrumentation and approved tests in this segment of the market. Diagen puts much emphasis on understanding the needs of the customers and constantly tries to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms involved.
New technology in the field of molecular biology is about to revolutionise our understanding of the humane genome. RNA Interference is already in use in many projects in vitro. Technical Service
Instruments based on advanced technology and fine mechanics, even though designed for high reliability, will benefit from systematic preventive maintenance as recommended by the supplier. Particularly systems for routine diagnostics need to have an extremely high degree of availability. In support of this goal it is necessary to organise a maintenance system, which will give fast feedback in case of faults or abnormal operation such that corrective action can be implemented as soon as possible. Key words in this connection are response time, troubleshooting, spare parts and components. After proper training, first line of maintenance may be done by the customer. The second line of maintenance may be done at Diagen and the third line of maintenance at the premises of the supplier. We usually recommend that the customer enter into a service contract with Diagen. Such a contract can be tailored to the needs of the customer. Training courses are offered to service personnel when needed. We recommend that service personnel from the customer take active part during installation and start-up of a new system.
